Wilhelm Ulex (1880-1959) was a General der Artillerie of the German Wehrmacht during World War II. He served in a Holstein artillery regiment of the Imperial German Army during World War I. After the war, he remained in the Reichswehr, and he was promoted to colonel in 1931 and then to Generalleutnant in 1935, taking command of the XI Armeekorps in Hanover. In 1939, he was promoted to General der Artillerie. Ulex took part in the invasion of Poland in September 1939, and both Ulex and General Johannes Blaskowitz objected to the inhumane treatment of Poles by the SS. He was relieved of his post as a result, and he retired in 1941.
